About The Baking How
Have you ever followed a recipe perfectly, only to end up with cookies that are too flat, too dry, or burnt on the bottom? I’m Saqlain, and I created The Baking How to help you solve those exact problems.
For over 17 years, my life has been all about cookies. But I wasn’t just baking in a home kitchen—I was working behind the scenes in the world of professional, large-scale baking.
My journey has taken me through the research & development labs and production floors of some of the biggest names in the industry. I started as a Quality and R&D Supervisor at Asian Foods Industries (Mayfair) 2008-2013, where my job was to test ingredients and ensure every single biscuit that left the factory was perfect.
From there, I moved to Volka Food International (Cookania) 2013-2019, where as a Senior Executive in Production and R&D, I developed new products from scratch. This is where I learned the deep science behind baking—from creating new cookie recipes like Choco Chip and Cake Rusk to solving complex issues for international export.
My path then led me to become the Manager of Production and Development at Onesto Foods (Onesto) 2019-2025, where I oversaw the entire baking process, from mixing and recipe development to packaging and launching new products.
Now, I have taken on my most exciting challenge yet. Since March 2025, I have been the General Manager of Operations at Tayyaba Food Industries, a dynamic new startup specializing in cookies, wafers, cakes, and confectionery. In this leadership role, I’m building everything from the ground up—applying my years of expertise to launch innovative products and set the highest standards for quality and success.
